Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville left fans baffled as they appeared to walk away from fellow presenter Kelly Cates after Liverpool’s win over Southampton .
The pair were heading to the tunnel to interview the managers at St Mary’s but took off en route immediately after being asked a question by their colleague.
Coates was left standing alone in the background as the former players continued their conversation, answering the question about the important of Liverpool’s win, as they made their way around the pitch.
The planned sequence was branded a “bizarre” bit of production from Sky Sports and left fans confused.
One fan stated “this is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen” whilst another noted how “they fully took off”.
Viewers also questioned “why did Sky let Alan Partridge do the directing?” with another saying “Carragher and Neville casually walking away from Kelly Cates was so bizarre”.
“Apparently it was planned that Gary Neville & Jamie Carragher would walk off, but they could have stuck around to answer Kelly Cates’ question first! Just weird….& comes off as totally rude,” another viewed added.
The incident came after the trio had watched Liverpool come from behind to earn a vital 3-1 win over the Saints.
They proceeded to interview both managers, with Klopp praising the fighting spirit of his side after the game.
